Project 39

Project 39 is a sash replacement program for FarNorth windows manufactured during a very specific timeframe. Not all windows needing service are part of Project 39.

Units manufactured from December 1, 1996 to June 30, 1998 are included in the replacement program. Other dates of manufacture are not included.

Replacement sashes in this date range are provided to the homeowner at a 45% discount off of list price. Finishing and installation are not included.

Windows outside these dates are not included in the program. Deterioration of sashes due to condensation, inadequate finish, misuse, lack of maintenance or other factors is not covered by warranty or Project 39.

The way to determine the window manufacturing date is through examination of the original invoice for the windows. This needs to be verified through the distributor of your FarNorth product.

Each FarNorth window has an etched logo on the glass in a lower corner of the window. On that etching is the distributor of the product along with a code that depicts the date the glass was originally manufactured. This is NOT a true indication of the manufacture date of the window. The glass could have been manufactured up to a year before your window unit was assembled. The invoice date is the only determinate of manufacturing date and inclusion in Project 39. Letters informing all known addresses of homes built during this period were mailed between the years of 2000 to 2004. It is very rare that a home with windows manufactured during this time did not receive multiple notices during this period.

If your home was built between December 1, 1996 and June 30, 1998 you may be eligible to participate in this program. Call Scherer Brothers Service at 763–433–3390 only if your home was built during this period. They have access to invoice and manufacturing data and will complete a search based upon your address.
